WORKSHOPS
People with ADHD make up 5% of the population and have significant issues engaging with workplaces, schools and with therapy. Many institutions would like to be more accommodating of the difficulties that people with ADHD face. At ADHD Therapy Australia we can provide our expertise to help your environment, whether it be a school, a workplace or your home, become more equitable for people with ADHD. Our workshops do this by providing the latest information about ADHD and training you or your organisation in the skills and mindsets needed to become more accessible for people with ADHD.
Schools
Workshops available for pre-school, primary school and high school and specialist school settings
For preschools, primary schools and high schools. The research shows us that without support, students with ADHD are much more likely to disengage with education, achieve lower academic results (despite ability levels) and report significant negative experiences at school. Young people with ADHD are also more likely to experience mental health concerns and social difficulties.
Our workshops will help educators to understand the impact of ADHD on learning and behaviour and impactful (often simple) accommodations and supports that can be provided for in any educational environment, regardless of age or gender. With a deeper understanding of the impact of ADHD on learning, behaviour and mental health, schools can provide impactful accommodations that can significantly increase attendance, engagement and academic performance, as well as improve mental health and relationships.

Workshops and Supervision
1 in 20 people across the population live with ADHD, with a significant proportion also experiencing comorbidities such as ASD, Depression and Anxiety. This means that in therapy, the incidence of people with ADHD requiring therapeutic support is substantial, yet people with ADHD often experience a number of barriers in accessing therapy and specialist support. Evidence suggests that even navigating a website or booking system can be a significant obstacle for a person with ADHD in accessing treatment.
Understanding and accommodating for ADHD can require a depth of knowledge about ADHD that is not provided in standard therapeutic training. Many elements of traditional and commonly used therapies can actually be less effective or counterintuitive for clients with ADHD. At ADHD Therapy Australia we help therapists make their practices more accessible and evidence based for people with ADHD through our workshops and supervision sessions for psychologists and allied health providers. We aim to give therapists a thorough understanding of ADHD, what makes therapy for people with ADHD easier to access and evidence-based practical interventions to help make therapy more effective for people with ADHD.

Corporate
Training and consultation
Due to inequitable conditions in the workplace, people with ADHD can experience higher rates of absenteeism, lower productivity at work, reduced workplace participation and if ADHD is not addressed staff turnover tends to be higher, leading to more cost in training and hiring new employees. The estimated productivity cost for unaccommodated ADHD in the workplace for Australian businesses is 10.19 billion a year.
However, people with ADHD can be excellent employees if reasonable accommodations are put in place to make the workplace more equitable for them. If a workplace trains its staff to address the stigmas often associated with ADHD and if simple and reasonable accommodations are put into place, people with ADHD can thrive in the workplace. At ADHD Therapy Australia we help businesses make their workplace practices more accessible for people with ADHD through our tailored workshops on workplace accommodations. We aim to give your staff a thorough understanding of ADHD, teach you about reasonable, cost-effective and simple workplace accommodations that can be implemented in the workplace and help you introduce these measures to your staff.
