Sharing care helps share the load of ADHD assessments
Our patients would present at your clinic with a completed clinical history, DIVA-5, collaborative information and assessment of mental health conditions. This would allow your psychiatrists to focus their time with the patient on assessing their mental and medical health and treatment. We respect that your psychiatrists will give an independent medical opinion of the patient's diagnosis. Our initial assessment offers the patient enough time to comprehensively explore their symptoms and the impact they have had on their lives and offer the psychiatrists quality information for their assessment to save time and appointments.
Clients coming from ADHD Therapy Australia will present for treatment with a fully comprehensive diagnostic report on or prior to their first appointment, allowing for the treatment options to be explored as quickly as possible. Our clinic also offers behavioural and therapeutic support for clients for their ADHD or mental health condition following their ADHD assessment.
Our ADHD assessments are:
-
administered by experienced psychologists who are extensively supervised and trained in ADHD
-
recorded in an 11-page report detailing the findings of their ADHD assessment, including diagnostics as per the DSM-5 AADPA Clinical Guidelines.
-
clinical interview including a developmental history and the Diagnostic Interview for Adult ADHD (DIVA-5)
-
corroborative information collected for adult symptoms and retrospective childhood symptoms using Utah Rating Scale, review of report cards and medical records or the DIVA clinical interview with an informant
-
screening for comorbid conditions with suggestions made for further treatment, including screening for drug and alcohol use and eating disorders.
-
affordable. We currently charge $540 for our two-hour ADHD assessment including a feedback session and report writing.
-
structured in an ADHD friendly manner to ensure that the information is accessible for clients who experience challenges with inattention, executive functioning and distractibility.
-
followed by a 30-minute feedback session with the psychologist to discuss the results and to scaffold the next steps of treatment. An individualised guide to treatment options is also sent out to the client.
